Mobilight : for the well-being of horses

New project: Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Versailles)

Launched in June 2024, Proximal’s Mobilight range is designed to meet the lighting needs of equine professionals, with particular attention to the tranquility and well-being of horses. Each product in the range uses PERFORM inside technology to provide efficient, durable lighting suitable for demanding environments.

These mobile lighting devices were adopted and used as a world first by veterinary teams and night stewards during Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games for all equestrian competitions in Versailles.

During these events, present at the clinic from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the night veterinarians made rounds with the FEI night stewards to ensure the well-being of the horses and intervene if necessary. They were equipped with flashlights and portable projectors builtin with Proximal red light, light not perceived by the horses, in order to respect their tranquility and sleep.

During my presence period at Paris Olympic Games as a night veterinarian, I was able to use PROXIMAL Equine Lighting Expert lamps. The red light allows you to closely observe the horses and their behavior without disturbing or waking them. The lamps are practical and lightweight, and the intensity is adjustable. The difference with using white or yellow light was really striking. The stables were very calm during our rounds and the horses did not stress when we lit in the boxes.
